Connect & Refresh - Mental Health Week Event
As part of Mental Health Week 2026, Prospect Community Services are hosting a community event called "Connect & Refresh" on Tuesday, 6 October 2026.
The event is designed to encourage social connection, promote mental wellbeing, and reduce stigma surrounding mental health within our community.
Guest Speaker Session featuring:
- Ross Romeo (CORES Queensland) - Recognising the signs of mental health concerns, Mental Health First Aid, and Suicide Prevention.
- Aathu Wilson (Queensland Health Disaster Recovery) - Building resilience and coping strategies.
- James Bundesen (FCCS Counsellor, Centacare) - Mental health and wellbeing in families.
The morning will run as follows:
- Welcome & Morning Tea - Tea, coffee, and light refreshments while attendees connect and mingle.
- Guest Speaker Session
- Interactive Wellbeing Check-In Activity - Participants will reflect on gratitude, local connections, and personal wellbeing goals.
- Resource and Information Session - Community members can access take-home information and connect with local support services.
All we want you to bring is your lived experiences, an open mind and an appetite.
