For the first time ever, North Queensland Wildlife Care is hosting our Introduction to Wildlife Care and Rescue course in Charters Towers! Whether you've always wanted to help injured native wildlife or you're simply curious about what wildlife rescue involves, this is your opportunity to learn from experienced wildlife carers right here in your local community.

Introduction to Wildlife Care and Rescue

Are you interested in becoming a wildlife carer or rescuer? This course is the perfect place to start!

You'll gain an understanding of:
How to become a wildlife carer or rescuer
The native animals commonly rescued in North Queensland
Basic rescue, handling and care techniques
The skills and equipment needed to safely rescue and care for wildlife

Whatever wildlife interests you—birds, echidnas, flying foxes, frogs, macropods, microbats, possums, reptiles or small mammals—this course is for you!

Presented by the experienced species coordinators from North Queensland Wildlife Care Inc., this course provides a realistic introduction to wildlife care, along with practical rescue and handling methods to help you make a real difference for our native wildlife.

Not suitable for children under 12 years of age (some images of injured animals may be shown).
Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
