The Charters Towers Showground is used as an overflow facility and only open during visitor peak season. Our aim is for all guests to enjoy their visit and take away memories of a most enjoyable time in the Charters Towers Region. It’s your gateway to and from the famous Queensland outback where you’ll experience warm hospitality and all the services and facilities you need to make your life on the road comfortable.

Charters Towers Showground (CTS) can only be booked or used as an RV, caravan, trailer or tent camping facility when all three caravan parks located within Charters Towers City, being Charters Towers Tourist Park (4787 7944), Dalrymple Tourist Van Park (4787 1121) and Big 4 Aussie Oasis Outback Holiday Park (4787 8722), are completely booked, including their approved overflow facilities.

We welcome all visitors staying in the Charters Towers Showground Overflow Facility and trust your stay is enjoyable.
In order to ensure the comfort and safety of all our guests and surrounding residents please read and adhere to the following:
GENERAL RULES & GUIDELINES:
Pets are permitted but must be leashed or contained by suitable means at all times.
Noise levels must remain at reasonable limits at all times. Social gatherings electronic entertainment and fun with friends are all part of a great holiday. However please be considerate of all guests and ensure that noise from your site is contained to very low levels after 8.30pm.
Unruly or rude behaviour will not be accepted. Please consider all campers and our neighbouring residents and respect everyone’s rights for a harmonious surrounding at all times.
No open fires are permitted in the grounds.
A minimum distance between each site of 3 metres must be maintained for fire and emergency risk management.
All vehicles should be parked front-facing to allow an easier exit in the unlikely case of any emergency evacuation. Please ensure your caravan/trailer ‘A’ frame faces the roadway.
All roads and pathways (gravel and paved) and areas surrounding all building structures on site must be kept clear to allow for unobstructed access at all times. Any vehicles or items obstructing this access will be removed at the expense of the owner of the removed items.
Each individual site area is to be kept at a reasonable level of cleanliness and tidiness and all possessions are contained within a reasonable area of your site.
All electrical cords to power outlets must be secured to avoid trips. Preferably these should be lead to the power box above head height where able to do so safely.
Cleaning of fish should be undertaken outside the grounds or within your own campsite.
All scraps are to be securely wrapped and disposed of in external waste receptacles provided in the grounds.
Vehicle cleaning is permitted.
