Charters Towers is indisputably the centre of Rodeo in the North and has a long history with Rodeo with the Charters Towers Rodeo Association hosting events since 1948. The event features bulls, broncs, barrels, roping, bulldogging and bucking bareback ponies. A live band will keep the mood going once the arena action is completed. The rodeo is a great family friendly outing with all of the extreme rodeo action taking place under the covered arena at the Charters Towers Dalrymple Equestrian Complex complete with food & trade stalls, family area, live music and licensed bar.

The action kicks off on Friday at 3pm with the King of the Goldfields 3 Head Steer Wrestling followed by the Kids Rock Junior Rodeo at 6pm.  The Short Go Steer Wrestling will follow the Junior Rodeo.

Heart of the Goldfields Rodeo kicks of on Saturday which will see a full program of events commencing at 11am and continuing into the evening.  Events include Saddle Bronc, Bull Ride, Steer Wrestling Barrel Race etc.
