Description

There are many different species of native animals and birdlife to see, including the Eastern Waterdragon (Lizard), which can be sometimes found in the trees, in the middle of the river. There are also many species of fish to catch, like the much sought after Barramundi, Black Brim, Jew fish and Sleepy Cod.

The Burdekin River is also home to a wonderful array of birdlife which includes jabirus, egrets, brolgas, terns, white breasted sea eagles, stilts, ducks, cormorants. We also have masses of cockatoos (black and white), rosellas, bower birds, wrens, honey eaters, oriels, kookaburras, dollarbirds, koels, bee-eaters and kingfishers that roost in the eucalypts along the banks.
